The stock price of 58.com spiked by 33.52% during the last trading session due to leaked information about a merger with its main rival - Ganji.com.

The stock price of 58.com spiked by 33.52% during the last trading session due to leaked information about a merger with its main rival - Ganji.com. The two companies own some of the largest online and mobile marketplaces in China and are market leaders in their targeted segments. The deal is estimated at $10 bln, according to sources familiar with the negotiations. The combined entity is expected to become the absolute leader in the targeted segments in China, which raises antitrust concerns which might eventually block the deal.

58.com is part of the Compass Global Trend's portfolio. The company's aggressive marketing strategy over the past year improved the company's operational performance and the total revenue accelerated the growth pace to 81.80% in 2014. The cumulative increase in the 58.com's stock price reached 63.35% year-to-date.
