Positive forecast for Netflix' users

Netflix, Inc. is a streaming entertainment service company that provides a subscription service for streaming movies and series over the Internet and sending DVDs by mail. It operates through the following segments: Domestic Streaming, International Streaming and Domestic DVD. The Domestic Streaming segment derives revenue from monthly membership fees for services consisting solely of streaming content to its members in the United States. The international streaming segment includes fees from members outside the United States. The Domestic DVD segment comprises revenues from services consisting solely of DVD-by-mail. The company was founded by Mark Randolph and Wilmot Reed Hastings Jr. on August 29, 1997.

Netflix's subscriber numbers have fallen for two straight quarters, including reporting a loss of 1 million accounts in its second-quarter report. However, management signaled an end to this downward trend, forecasting the number of global paid memberships from subscribers to reach an all-time high of 221.67 million in the 3rd quarter.
