The negative yield for the month of August of -3.92% was reported by MF Compass Euroselect with a share price of 0.9098 EUR. Rising tensions between the United States and China have once again been reflected in declining financial markets. In August, the leading stock indexes in all geographical regions declined.
The most significant growth of the shares in the portfolio of MF Compass Euroselect was reported during the month by: the Spanish company operating telecommunication towers, Cellnex Telecom (+ 7.41% in EUR), the German manufacturer of machines for the automotive and weapons industry Rheinmetall AG (+ 3.77% in EUR), the Swiss pharmaceutical company Lonza Group (+ 3.73% in EUR), the German manufacturer of fragrances and flavorings for food and cosmetics Symrise AG (+ 1.53% in EUR) and the Finnish company UPM-Kymmene Ouj (+ 0.29% in EUR) for wood processing.
The development of trade relations between the United States and China will continue to hold the attention of investors globally. Meanwhile, geopolitical risks coupled with the volatile economic growth of the Eurozone complementing the reasons for the increased volatility of financial markets in Europe. Monitoring the economic activity, the ECB is expected to act with support measures if necessary. The selection of quality European businesses in the fund's portfolio, although not isolated from the general market sentiment, has grounds to perform better than the market average in the long run. In case of a deeper market correction, the fund's management is ready to limit short-term fluctuations in the value of the portfolio through tactical decisions and to add to the exposure of shares at attractive levels.
